Optimisation of energy supply from solar PV systems - Operating Agent for IEA-SHC Task 35: PV/Thermal solar systems
This project has funded Danish participation in the IEA SHC Task 35 for the period 2004-2009.
The aim of the project is to prepare the development of PV/T (combined photovoltaic/thermal solar systems) for Danish conditions. This will be done by participation as Operating Agent for the IEA SHC Task 35 Project about 'PV/T Solar Systems'. The work will focus on development of new international measuring methods, calculation of output caracteristics and optimisation of the output from combined PV/T Systems. The project includes a dissimination strategy for the building industry in Denmark (architects, consulting engineers, contractors). The project is a continuation of the concluded IEA PVPS-project Task 7: 'Photovoltaic Power Systems in the Built Environment'
The theme of this international cooperation was the so-called PV/T system, which is an integrated system containing both photovoltaic and solar heating components and systems that convert sunlight into electricity and heat simultaneously. A PV/T system usually includes a hot water tank, heat exchangers, pipes, controllers, inverters, wiring and a heat pump. The results include the possibility to simulate a transpirating PV/T module in TRNSYS, a status report on current R&D tasks, as well as tests of a number of modules from participating industries.
