Development of the foundation for energy performance contracting in Denmark - including participation in IEA ECBCS annex 46
The objective of the project was to develop a sound basis for the decisions on Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) for ESCOs (Energy Service Companies) and building owners with respect to heating of buildings.
.
EPC is mentioned in the action plan of the Danish Government as an importnant factor to reach the CO2 reduction goals. The EU Commission has developed a new directive on EPC. The project was linked to an IEA project - Annex 46 under the ECBCS (Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems) which has the goal to provide the basis for EPC both with respect to the technologies and the economical setup. The project has resulted in 3 reports, 2 in Danish and 1 in English.
