Fundamental understanding of pelletizing

Institut for Mekanik, Energi og Konstruktion (MEK-DTU)

It is the goal to increase the fundament for optimising pellet production and give relations between the quality of the pellet and the conditions during the production.

Project description

Producing pellets from biomass is often problematic. Until now the method to solve related problems have been based on experiments, and a theoretical understanding of the mechanisms in pellets during production is not accessible. This project will increase the theoretical understanding, and relate this to empirical data. It is the goal to increase the fundament for optimising pellet production and give relations between the quality of the pellet and the conditions during the production
