Participation in the EU Commission's OPET network

The project activities have been implemented within the framework of the European OPET Network (Organisations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies), supported by the EU Commission. The OPET Network comprises more than 100 organisations from within and outside Europe.

Results

A key aim of Energy Centre Denmark (ECD)'s OPET activites has been to inform potential Danish applicants about EU's Programmes within the energy field, first of all JOULE-THERMIE. Also it has aimed at helping to assist with the intemationalisation of the Danish energy sector focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. A key means to do this has been the elaboration of a number of electronic newsletters, which have been circulated to around 300 actors in the Danish energy sector. Also ECD has done a systematic effort to disseminate Danish energy technologies and policies via ECDs homepage www.ecd.dk, including amongst other sector presentations of the Danish bio, wind, solar and district heatng/CHP sectors. Another part of the OPET activities supported by EFP has concerned carrying out of specific actions in co-operation with OPET partners from other countries. This include technical co-operation on thermal bridges in the building sector (led by the Czech OPET), building up of a register of RUE and RES projects (led by OPET ENEA from Italy) and provision of support to development of wind energy in the western part of Scotland (led by OPET Scotland). Furthermore the support from EFP has allowed ECD to participate in a number of network meetings, including contributing to OPET stand at DG TREN conference in Barcelona, October 2001 and making presentations of Danish wind and solar energy technologies at RES Congress in Warsaw, December 2001 and Almeria, Spain, April 2002. In addition to this ECD has undertaken a number of other international networking activites not covered by the EFP support. These activites have been co-funded by the UVE programme, the Danish Trade Council and DTIs own financing. More information on ECDs OPET activities can be found at supplementary report to the present form (in Danish) as well as the final OPET report prepared for the EU Commission
