Experimental investigation and evaluation of extra insulated office building with natural ventilation- 'Bulding 2000' Rockwood International A/S Research Centre

The objective is to investigate and evaluate the function of an office building with extremely low energy consumption for heating. The target is 15 kWh/m2/yer, which is a reduction of 70% compared to the demand in the Danish Building Regulations 1995.

Project description

The building is insulated with approx. 500 mm Rockwool insulation in the building envelop in combination with natural ventilation in the open space areas. The indoor climate is designed to give a good air quality, no overheating in summertime and a high degree of daylight. The design of the building has been given high priority, in order to reach a high architectural level. The performance of the building (energy consumption, indoor climate, moisture etc.) is documented by ongoing measurements in the building. The measuring data and design is shown on the internet (www.rockwool.com)
