Improved design basis for large vind turbine blades of fibre composites; studies of scale-effects
The aim of the project is to develop better design basis for large wind turbine blade of composite materials by a combination of materials research, structural mechanics, involving both modelling and experiments on specimens of different sizes.
Project description
Scale effects will be studied for three areas: 1) Fracture of laminated composites loaded in compression. 2) Strength of adhesive bonded joints. 3) Fatigue failure of laminated composites subjected to cyclic loading
