Demonstration rail for the RUF electric vehicle concept

The objective of the project is to demonstrate the basic features of the RUF concept in order to show that the RUF technology is technically feasible in such a way that the potential energy savings, which are embedded in the concept, come within technological reach.

Project description

The project includes the development of the new technologies which are necessary in order to erect a 200 m test track as well as two RUF vehicles in order to demonstrate the automatic coupling together of the moving vehicles. The Dual-Mode principle has - apart from three earlier projects under the EFP scheme - earlier only been investigated on a conceptual level. In the three previous projects under the EFP scheme a prototype of a short test track as a RUF vehicle have been developed, and driving from road to track and from track to road has been successfully demonstrated
