One main objective has been to co-ordinate the Danish activities within the IEA Bioenergy Agreement partly by on-going contacts with Danish task participants and partly by alternate representative of Denmark in the programme executive committee. Related functions has been to communicate with the programme secretariat mainly concerning information material about bioenergy in Denmark. The overall aim is to ensure that the programme activities in which Denmark participate are carried our in reasonable accordance Danish priorities in general and EFP priorities in particular. A special task has been to inform abouth IEA Bioenergy at a roundtable meeting in conjuction with IEA Green House Gas Technologies Conference 1998. Another international activity has been then chairmanship in the bioenergy processes/photosynthesis committee of the Nordic Energy Programme. The part-programme has mainly given grants to PhD students and supported workshops, seminars and conferences with two fields. One is basic research related to production of ethanol from lignocellulose and the other artificial photosynthesis - the latter mainly synthesis of metalorganic supermolecules and energetic analyses of electron transfer in these. The cooperation established in ethanol research of the Nordic Energy Programme is of great importance for the EFP supported activities in this area
