Quality determination of energy chips. Preproject

Most countries are using some kind of shaking screen (in Sweden, Finland and the USA based on pulp-wood, in Austria based on gravel). In Sweden and the USA there has been some experimentation on rotating screens for fuel chips and chunk, but the development stopped for at least 10 years ago. In Sweden a rotating screen has recently come into use. Based on this machine the requirements for a Danish developed rotating screen have been established. This machine has been built within another project. In Italy Video Image Analysis was discussed. The method has so far only been used for measuring surfaces and not volume. When the sample is containing wood dust (as all fueltypes do) the method can not be used because the particles are becoming blurred on the photo. A set of national and international standards regarding biomass fuels has also been collected
