Energy-optimized design and control of pumps and motors
The purpose of the project is to produce the technical basis for dimensioning and developing motor/pump systems, so that the total concept is energy-optimized for domestic heating.
The project includes theoretical and experimental demonstrations through simulation and practical tests of motors inclusive of electronic control and hydraulic design of pumps. The motor/pump system is tested partly in central heating systems, and partly in boilers. The expected result is essential electricity savings for pumps for domestic heating. Today the electricity comsumption is 2 or 3 times as high as necessary, and at present it represents about 14% of the electricity consumption of a residence
