IEA Bioenergy Task 37-Energy from biogas

The aim of lEA Bioenergy Task 37 is the international collaboration and mutual exchange of research, knowledge and information between the member countries, in the area of production and utilisation of biogas from anaerobic digestion for renewable energy and biofuel purposes
The project ensured Danish participation in the international biogas network IEA Bioenergy Task 37: Energy from biogas in the period 2011-2013 and by this a direct involvement in the international exchange of newest research results and of technological knowledge within biogas area. The dissemination of project results serve as impartial expert assistance and support to politicians and decision makers, for an environmentally sustainable and cost effective deployment of biogas technologies and a world-wide future development of the biogas sector.
Project description

IEA Bioenergy Task 37 is part of the International Energy Agency -IEA (www.iea.org), as a permanent international partnership of collaboration and exchange of knowledge, information and research results in the area of energy from biogas. The activity is carried out as a continuous common project for the continuously increasing number of member countries, represented today by: Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and the European Commission. General objectives: 1. To carry out expert technical work in the area of biogas for energy, for the benefit of member countries 2. To provide reliable expert support to biogas plant owners and to decision makers 3. To disseminate the newest technical information and verified research results to member and non member countries Through the partnership of IEA Bioenergy Task 37, a solid international network and expertise was built, on the behalf of the Danish biogas sector and biogas industry. The activities of the task representative consist of regular meetings, collection and exchange of biogas data and information, technical and scientific publications, reports, assessments, and information materials, participation to workshops and seminars, periodic newsletters, web forums for biogas industry etc. More information is available at the web page of Task 37: www.iea-biogas.net
