New strategy for wave power through industrial partnership

The Danish wave power industry has in connection with this application created a partnership that aims to initiate, strengthen and develop cooperation, and develop a comprehensive joint strategy for research and development of wave power in Denmark. The foundation for the project will be a mapping of the common challenges facing the different concept developers and ongoing projects, so as to identify common interests and technological challenges. The mapping will be the skeleton of an overall joint R&D strategy, which in turn will result in concrete joint R&D projects, bringing together the relevant partners around specific components / items. The project will implement the following activities: 1) Identify the components and areas of priority which are common across the various concepts. 2) Identify activities and R&D projects, nationally and internationally, related to the areas of priority. 3) Develop a new strategy that focuses more on the main common areas and obvious topics for cooperation and common interests. 4) Through this partnership to develop concrete proposals for research, development and demonstration projects and improve the utilization of public research funding and strengthen the exploitation of research results

Results

The purpose of the project is drafting of a new national strategy for wave power. The strategy will enable focus on increasing cooperation within the industry. The project creates contacts and collaborative interfaces, which ultimately will lead to joint projects, thus ensuring improved utilization of R&D funds
