PSFB drying of willow tree for use in gasification plants
Studies on willow-wood chips for bio-fuel have been carried out on fluidization and drying in superheated steam under pressure at Niro A/S Copenhagen.
Results
specially designed gas distributor plate for the fluidized bed has been developed. Small quantities (5 kg) of well defined material in sizes of 25 and 50 mm, 10-12 mm diameter has been dried batchwise in a lab-scale fluidized bed with super heated steam under pressure (2 bar g). Satisfactory results of fluidization and drying kinetics are found regarding the scale up to industrial size steam dryers
