Purification of silicon for solar cell applications. Phase 1
The purpose of this project is to investigate the technical and commercial potential of a new method to purify raw silicon (Metallurgical Grade silicon or just MG-Si). The fundamental concept for a pilot line has been prepared and in the first phase of the project the necessary equipment will be designed, purchased and/or custom built.
Results
NAIG has patented a process for making silicon and can be proofed to be a much cheaper way to produce polycrystallinks silicon then any production methods used so fare and without pollution. The method has eliminated any extra costs associated with recovery of waste products. In the current project NAGI will develop and test the method a pilot production plant.
