Participation in IEA Implementing Agreement Energy Technology Data Exchange (ETDE)
1. PARTICIPATION IN ETDE'S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND ETDE'S TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP. Within the IEA ETDE agreement a common database ETDE World Energy Base - ETDEWEB - is established. The database contains descriptions of literature publisehd in each member country (reports, journal articles, books, conference papers etc.). Many publications can be downloaded directly from the database. The Executive Committee monitors and develops the co-operation so that the database has the best possible geographic coverage and has a high quality by using modern information technologies. The project monitor is the Danish primary delegate in the committee which meets annually. The proejct leader represents Denmark in the Technical Working Group, which discusses in detail any feasible technical developments and makes recommendations to the ExCo about which new facilities should be implemented.
2. RECORDING OF DANISH LITERATURE FOR ETDEWEB. All types of literature, including project reports, journal articles and conference papers) are collected and recorded. Through regular monitoring of several institutions' web sites and subscriptions to news alerts, relevant new publications are identified. Some reports are received directly from project leaders of publicly funded projects. The registration is done according to ETDE's rules, which means e.g. translation of titles into English, prepartions of English abstracts, and indexing with english subject terminology. Reports in electronic form with no copyright restrictions are connected to the metadata in teh database, so that users can download these directly from the database. Such reports are also uploaded to a server at DTU Library. Paper-based reports are available on loan from DTU Library. All literature records are regularly delivered to ETDEWEB. Records about nuclear energy related topics are also delivered to IAEA's database INIS (International Nuclear Information System)
The yearly executive committee meeting was held in May in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Discussions at the meeting dealt primarily with the future of ETDE´s database ETDEWEB as part of the upcoming renewal process of the agreement- The technical working group has primarily worked with the re-design of ETDE´s web.
The practical work of delivering information about Danish energy literature has been carried out regularly during year. Through systematic monitoring of publications published in Denmark, 430 publications were recorded with abstracts and keywords in English. The records, incl. reports in electronic form, were delivered to ETDE World Energy Base (ETDEWEB) and other relevant energy databases.
