Energy-efficient impulse coolers
The project, which won the Elforsk prize of 2011, has resulted in a unique impulse cooler, which uses natural refrigerants and a refrigerator system which, with an electricity consumption of 2,215 kWh/day, is 47% more cost-efficient than Vestfrost's currently most energy-efficient impulse refrigerator. This result has been achieved in part by incorporating a new Danfoss compressor and a new easy-to-clean condenser, as well as improved insulation, which are the final outcome of three generations of prototypes. The new impulse refrigerator is not more expensive to manufacture and therefore Vestfrost will put it into commercial production as soon as demand for the product has been established. (Energy 11)
