Results
In this project a number of industrial and agricultural waste products have been characterised and evaluated in terms of alkali-getter performance. The intended use is for biomass-fired power stations aiming at reducing corrosion or slagging related problems. The following products have been obtained, characterised and evaluated: Brewery draff, Danish de-gassed manure, paper sludge, moulding sand, spent bleaching earth, anorthiose, sand and caly-sludge. Most of the above alternative additive candidates are deemed unusabæe due to insufficient chemical effect and/or expensive requirements for pre-treatment. 3 products were selected for full-scale testing: de-gassed manure, spent bleaching earth and clay sludge. The full scale tests were undertaken at the biomass-fired power stations in Køge, Slagelse and Ensted.
