Project description

The activities of this project will continue to improve our understanding of the SOFC materials and structures, and this knowledge will be implemented in im-proved cells. The main criterion of success in the project will be significant im-provement of the electrode and cell performance in general and the cell durabil-ity in particular. Some main activities are: improvement of electrochemical characterization; development of materials and structures; effect of additives in controlling detrimental segregation and agglomeration; performance and dura-bility tests of cells; and modelling

Results

The overall objective of the Danish SOFC (= Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) program is to commercialize Danish SOFC technology. The purpose of the present project was to provide the continued research and development, which was necessary in order to improve the cell components and to implement those using industrially relevant production methods. The main target of this project was to reach a degradation rate of less than 1% pr 1000 h at 0.75 A/cm2 and 750 deg. Celsius. In addition, existing test facilities should be up-graded to allow more detailed knowledge to be extracted from the cell testing. (Energy 11)
