A concept for energy efficient control of air-air heat pumps and electric storage water heaters with focus on indoor clima, energy savings and demand response is developed. A plug n' play-solution for existing and new heat pumps and electric storage water heater installations is demonstrated.

Results
A concept for energy efficient control of air-air heat pumps (holiday residences), with focus on indoor climate, energy savings and demand response should be developed. Outcome of the project is a commercial software package that can be used to control all types of heat pumps, i.e. also single-family houses, which in the years to come have to phase out oil burners.
The developed software package ‘The Digital HeatMaster’ is used in the Danish Energy Authority’s demonstration project, which is focusing on heat sale on similar conditions as district heating. Here the district heating plants owns and operates the heatpumps, and the customers are billed a fixed price according to the actual heat supply.
A mathematical model for cloud based energy efficient control is developed. Based on simulations of the building, the operations data from the heat pump and local weather forecasts and electricity price data, the energy consumption and electricity cost of the heat pump are minimized.
The software package is prepared for handling dynamic network tariffs and other price data in relation to Smart Grid services.
