Smart neighboring heat supply based on ground heat pumps
An innovative and promising concept for smart neighbouring heat supply based on shared heat pumps and heat accumulator has been developed. The concept is deemed to be personal-economically interesting and socio-economically fair; furthermore, it will provide obvious environmental advantages by being able to provide greater flexibility in the power system and for example individual heat pumps. It is recommended to establish an operatively competitive demonstration project in order to test the effect of full-scale tests, possible incentive tariffing for promotion of flexible power consumption, possible incentives through construction grants or favourable financing of loan capital as well as demonstration sale to private households of a 'package solution', in which smart grid is integrated with other smart services.
However, the households involved were very sceptical of the personal-economic consequences of the concept. As an application for further public funding to support the personal economy was denied, the project was forced to close down. A report describing the concept is available.
