Chemical looping reforming of generator gas
The objectives of this project are to selectively reform hydrocarbons leaving a biomass gasifier to eliminate downstream problems with tar, simplify the energy recovery of the hot producer gas and to selectively save lighter hydrocarbons for the production of synthetic natural gas (SNG).
Results
The project covers the Danish (DTU) contribution to the ERA-NET Bioenergy project Energy efficient selective reforming of hydrocarbons. This project is and R&D project attached to the swedish GoBiGas project (Gothenburg Biomass Gasification Project). The project group includes a number of Swedish partners, the major research partner is Chalmers University of Technology (CUT). The objective of the present work is to analyze the carbon formaton during reforming of hydrocarbons in a Chemical Looping Reformer, so that the best oxygen carrier and operating condition for the CL Reformer are selected.
