Ventilation Interplay
Micro Ventilation is very suitable for successive renovation and can operate independent of other indoor climate systems. In order to conserve energy, the interaction between the different climate systems (ventilation, heating, cooling) is improved by adding communication interface to other systems.
Interaction is made difficult by the fact that the system must be able to communicate with a variety of old and new systems. After analysis, we chose to focus on integration with mostly older and "simple" systems as the majority of used systems in Danish buildings have some relatively simple interfaces.
Regarding reuse of already installed ventilation system or exhaust it is our conclusion, that it can often be advantageous to use it in situations requiring high air change rates. But only as extra air extraction during free cooling.
We chose to focus on simple and practical methods for the interaction between the systems. This would be more manageable for the person who should implement the control wiring. Rather use a simple object that is used often instead of an optimized solution, which will rarely get used (and implemented correctly).
