Results
The project has developed a water pump in energy class A +, and the product is (to our knowledge) the first in this energy range.

Improvement in energy efficiency is 29% in the tapping program XL and at +15 ˚C in ambient temperature and air intake temperature ("exhaust air water heat pump").

Improvement in energy efficiency is 32% in the tapping program XL and at +20 ˚C in ambient temperature and +7 ˚C in air intake temperature ("outdoor air heat pump water heater").

The accredited testing at the Danish Technological Institute shows a COP of 3.15 at ambient temperature of 20 ° C, tapping program XL and air inlet temperature of 15 ˚C. Energy Efficiency Index is at 126%.

The improvement was achieved through the following initiatives:
• Better air duct with less pressure loss
• Improved fan placement and better air flow
Larger nozzle in thermostatic expansion valve
Slightly larger refrigerant charge
• Improved compressor (rotary compressor)
Pipe dimension is optimized and pressure drop is minimized
Change of insulation foam for better foam with 10% less heat flow.
New design around air ducts and cooling systems. New insulation around the top of the instrument

Vesttherm produces about 7,000 water heat pumps per year, and this production will now be upgraded with the new technology, developed in the project.

The new product is only marginally more expensive than the "baseline" -the product.

This will Vesttherm continue to be very competitive on the European market, where hot water heat pumps predicted a great future, as new EU Ecodesign requirements will phase out the use of most types of water heaters.

Therefore, a rise in the production of hot water heat pumps with Vesttherm in Esbjerg.
