Project description

The Organic Fuel Technology (OFT) process is developed to produce bio oil from organic materials like straw or organic waste, using an innovative process based on microwave enhanced catalytic depolymerisation. The project objective is in two steps to construct the first full-scale demonstration plant for production of bio oil to substitute fossil fuels for heat and power generation.

The OFT technology has been demonstrated at the company's pilot plants in Aarhus and Randers, denmark. The mass balance in the pilot plant has proven that when using straw, wood or slurry pellets, the outcome is approximately 30% oil, 20% gases and the rest is water (28-33%) and other products. In pilot tests the yield was roughly 1 L of bio-oil (heat value 32 MJ/kg) per 3.3 kg of straw feed
