Scalable fuel cell-based backup power (FC2Scale)

A generic fuel cell backup power platform is developed, aimed at meeting early fuel cell market
requirements. The unique modular platform is scalable from 1 to 5kW, and the resulting systems are
fuelled by hydrogen. The product is demonstrated in field trials at end user telecom network. By 2015 the
series of products will be competitive to batteries and diesel generators in outdoor installations.

Project description

The overall purpose of the FC2Scale project is to demonstrate the economic viability of FC technology by developing a platform that enables a complete set of solutions and demonstrate these in real applications. The FC2Scale solutions will open a market  for roll out in the >2000 relevant installations in Denmark, where lead-acid batteries are used today.
