Suitability of ELEctromobility - B (SELECT )
SELECT examines the actual state and expected development of EV in commercial transport in different European countries and will derive recommendations addressing the broad range of stakeholders including policy, industry, and users. Different solutions to support the customers’ shift from conventional to electric vehicles will be proposed.
The commercial transport sector is of particular relevance for the overall transport system and its
climate impact. It is assumed to be one of the early adopters of electro mobility. In recent years,
several research projects have been carried out regarding user needs, user acceptance and impact
on mobility patterns in relation to electric vehicles (EV). Most of the focus on the use of passenger
EV and little is know regarding the use of EV for commercial transportation, i.e. the transportation
of goods as well as the transportation of people for commercial purposes.
It is the aim of the SELECT proposal to contribute to closing this important knowledge gap with its
in-depths research of the suitability of EV for commercial transport.
