Manual power reserves from telesites
The focus of the project is to investigate if there are potential flexible energy reserves in serverrooms and telesites that can be implemented and exploites as manual energy reserves in the electricity system. Lately developed extreme energysaving cooling systems could be the gateway to this new application.
Project description
The focus of the project is to identify potential flexible energy reserves in telesites and serverrooms and find out how to exploit these in the most efficient way. The development actions aim to develop and test methods and technical equipment for this purpose as well as defining and describing limits and possibilities and potential development needs. Potential prototypes for technical equipment for this new application might also be developed.Technical and commercial focus of the project is especially on the market for manual reserves and flexible power reserves.Lately developed energyoptimized cooling methods might be the key to exploit future telesites to this purpose. The purpose is to contribute to a better balance between the production and consumption of the electricity. The need for local storage of energy and the need for flxible and regulative power is increasing due to increasing implementation of sustainable energy (wind and solar energy) at 50% of the total electricity production.
