The project deals with the continued operation and development of Wave Star pilot plant in Hanstholm with a focus on increasing the service life and reduce operating and maintenance costs, thus improving the overall COE. This will be achieved through a targeted collection of statistics on maintenance and operational time.
Project description
We will continue monthly reports to Energinet from project 10305 with detailed operating data and in addition add a maintenance report / stats focusing on the areas where there should be some new solutions to increase the performance / reducing maintenance.We want to document operating costs are currently estimated at 3% of the value of the machine at. years, and reduce overall costs throughout the life of the machine and thereby reduce the price for produced kWh.The cost of energy for Wave Energy Device needs to be reduced. The calculation of the cost of energy is based on the investment for the equipment itself, the foundation and installation, the plant cost, the yearly income, the interest expected, the life time of the device and the operation and maintenance. This part has a significant deal of the cost of energy. Reducing it by some percentage it will act directly to the COE.Actually no real studies have been made to identify the weight of operation and maintenance for wave energy converter compare to a major work which has been made for the offshore wind turbine. It gives a uniqueness of the project.
