User satisfactory and energy saving lighting control strategies
The first aim of the project is to broaden the foundation of lighting control-strategies that lead to energy savings and satisfied users. The second aim is to address the field of lighting control-strategies that lead to energy savings and satisfied users in a seminar for the lighting industry.
The aim of the project is to broaden the foundation of lighting control-strategies that lead to energy savings and satisfied users as well as communicating the recent findings to the indus-try. The following applications will be addressed in a lighting laboratory: occupant control of the general lighting and task lighting for low illuminance levels as well as occupant controlled lighting when users enter a room. There is a fair share of studies for the first two cases but the fields are lacking studies using low illuminance levels (max illuminance levels < 500 lux). This study will address if occupant control of the lighting leads to energy savings compared to the illuminance levels for offices from lighting standards (EN12464-1 and DS700); 100 lux for the background area and 500 lux for task area. The last case, occupant controlled lighting when users enter a room, will focus on comparing energy savings and user satisfaction for use of occupancy sensors compared to manual turn on (using adjustment).
The project is also intended to provide research results and experience from practice within energy efficient lighting-control strategies that will be presented on a seminar for the industry.
This project purpose was to extend the knowledge about energy efficient lighting control for the useres and to share knowledge with suppliers of lighting control equipment, advisors, lighting designers, electricity contractors and the responsible lighting persons in minucipalities and regions as legislators. Knowledge about user satisfaction energy efficient lighting control is expected to be part of future lighting control strategies and can be implemented in existing and new installations.
