Project description
A + E.3D is a platform for architects, engineers and builders to quickly and dialog to make iterative, 3D graphic energy calculations of different architectural, geometric and form solutions, as part of a strategic energy optimization from early in the design of buildings.
Results

A+E:3D is a platform for architects and engineers and clients for decision making regarding 3D-graphic energy calculations of different architectural and geometrical volume studies.

Purpose of the project was to extend version 2.1 of A+E:3D with functionality, to allow the user to work with renovation projects and to disseminate the tool in general.

Due to unforeseen difficulties in providing stable simulation results it was decided to terminate the project and instead focus on the experiences gained regarding user interface and methodology of integrated energy optimization of buildings. The results have been utilized by the project BeReal, where a standard BE15 energy calculation can be elaborated to show more realistic results regarding energy consumption to be expected.

Important part of the experience gained in the project is the guidance on systematic elaboration of parameters to allow energy optimization without compromising daylight availability and indoor climate.
