From PlusEnergy house to PlusEnergy Community
Future housing stock is constantly moving towards higher levels of energy efficiency and is increasingly established under concepts such as "passive houses", "0-energy houses" and "plus-energy houses". This has led to a number of new partly unresolved challenges. As example the energy production and energy requirements are rarely in balance in a plus-energy house also the user behavior in a low-energy house often do not conform to the design parameters of the settlement. In Denmark, in addition to a highly energy efficient housing stock, we also have a tradition of using the many benefits offered by public heat supply. It is therefore natural to look at the advantages of combining these traditions in a "plus-energy local area", where energy conservation, plant design, energy exchange and energy efficiency go hand in hand.
The project aims to look at the physical, planning, technical, economic, organizational, legal, etc. conditions in which it is possible to establish plus-energy communities. There will be considered opportunities to establish plus-energy communities in existing housing areas. The expected outcome of the project is a model for realization of one or more of plus-energy communities that can be demonstrated in practice in a later project.
The overall conclusion is, at there are more developments opportunities in collective perspectives and that will make it more possible to achieve the perspectives in the energy policy in Denmark. A holistic mindset and hereby integrate energy efficiency, supply and digitization are the way forward.
