International cooperation on large scale solar heating systems
The aim of the project is – through exchange of international knowledge – to develop and promote large solar heating plants. Denmark is in front in this field and the project gives good opportunities for promotion of Danish know how and technology. The overall objective is to increase the use of solar thermal energy throughout the world.
In October 2014 it was decided at the IEA-SHC ExCO to try to start a new task within the field of large scale solar heating systems. This new task will follow-up on the Task 45 “ Large scale solar heating and cooling systems” (http://task45.iea-shc.org/) and Task 49 ”Solar heat integration in industrial processes” (http://task49.iea-shc.org/) as both these tasks are being completed now. Denmark is in front with respect to large scale solar district heating systems. Thus it is an obvious chance – in this new task too – to promote the Danish success story, lessons learned and the effective Danish products in this field. *IEA SHC ExCo: The Executive Committee of the Solar Heating and Cooling implementing agreement of the International Energy Agency.
