Participation of IRD in the AFC [IEA] Annex 30 on Electrolysis
The project objective comprises participation in the international IEA Annex 30 on electrolysis. The work covers preparation and international meeting attendance twice a year, in a 5-year period. The participation will provide access to know-how and networks for the benefit of all Danish players within the hydrogen area.
The IEA work-group on electrolysis was formed recently as 1 of the 9 active annexes under the Advanced Fuel Cell [AFC] IA. The objective of the ANNEX 30 on Electrolysis is to assist the development and the deployment of electrolysis in energy systems through international co-operation.
Annex 30 will be a task-shared activity with focus on information sharing and learning between the participating experts that all possess knowledge and experience on the electrolyser technologies and its applications; the overall aim is to accelerate the development of all three (3) technologies of water electrolysis towards commercialisation. 2 annual workshops are intended in the next 5 years. Selected topics will be discussed in the workshops in addition to the mutual information on status and progress within the electrolysis research, development and demonstration.
The participation in the Annex 30 workshops will allow IRD to influence the international definitions, standards, and protocols, as well as to remain well informed on the international development. All Danish players within the hydrogen area will benefit from IRD’s participation in Annex 30 as the gained knowhow will be disseminated through the Danish Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells.Key figures
