Direct gas-fired absorption heat pump
The project aims to establish and demonstrate a direct gas-fired absorption heat pump in "district size" with a focus on rather competitive heat price, high RE share and fuel efficient operation. The project aims also to demonstrate a technology that helps and promotes the transformation of the Danish gas system into transportation of green renewable gas. Integration of the heat pump technology will help retain the decentralized cogeneration producers when the decoupled subsidies (grundbeløbet) will be discontinued by the end of 2018.
The project will be executed in two phases: Phase 1) Examination and description of the technology, economics, framework and system integration (WP1 and WP2) and Phase 2) Installation, testing and documentation of demonstration plant (WP3, WP4 and WP5).
The project will provide knowledge and experience of planning, installation and operation of a direct-fired absorption heat pump. The results will be translated into tools for advisors, heat producers and planners. Key data such as output, COP, size, operation and maintenance costs, environmental impact, etc. are pro-vided for the DEA/Energinet.dk's Technology Catalogue for large plants. A video will be prepared explaining and documenting the project and technology.
