This project is the continuation of the project: EUDP 13-II, 4E EMSA Participation in International Standards, which ran until the end of 2016. Denmark entered (thanks to EUDP) as an impartial participant in the IEC standardization work under 4E EMSA in the spring of 2014 and has ever since played a very important and influential role in this work supplying impartial measurements and conclusions.
At the end of 2016 a European standard on the topic has been published (EN 50598 series) which has been the foundation of the International standard series (IEC 61800-9 series). The status of the IEC standard now is final draft for International standard (FDIS) and it is expected to be published early 2017.
This standard, however, is very poor in terms of actual testing description etc. leaving many potential loop holes and grey areas and it has therefore been decided to have a very short duration time of the standard and begin the maintenance work on the standard immediately. This EUDP project will ensure Denmark’s impartial involvement in this future development of the standard, and the goal of the project is to ensure possibility for authorities to legislate regarding energy efficiency on motor systems.
