Task 34 Direct Thermochemical Liquefaction

This application concerns the role as national technology lead (NTL) for IEA Task 34 and the activities foreseen to further DK research and industrial development interests within this field of advanced biofuels. The purpose is to ensure maximum visibility for DK strongholds for technical collaboration, policy making and strategic planning, and to establish and engage in valuable
international networks to reach these objectives.
Project description

WP1 Support technical and economic assessment of biomass liquefaction technologies (DTL)
- Techno-economic assessments - report
- Contribute to co-processing bio-oil/biocrudes in petroleum refineries Task 39 report

WP2 Validate applicable analytical methods for bio-oil/biocrude product evaluation
- Validation of analytical method report or journal article
- Advanced analytical techniques workshop/webinar

WP3 Support commercialization through standards and lessons learnt
- Report on standardisation of bio-oil/biocrude analysis and application
- Technical notes on R&D and commercialisation experiences

WP4 Facilitate information exchange with stakeholders
- Six issues of PyNe Newsletter
- Direct thermochemical liquefaction technologies brochure
- Website content refresh
- Five workshops, seminars and/or site visits with key stakeholders aligned with task meetings
- Success stories report
- Three country reports
 

MS1 (M24) Establishment of a visible and consolidated Danish DTL stakeholder community
MS2 (M24) Establishment of Denmark as an international key player within research, innovation and commercialization of DTL technology and know-how.

DK deliverables

  • Bi-annual electronic newsletter with specific emphasis on Denmark and Danish opportunities and competences. To be published immediately after the Task meetings and workshops
  • DK-DTL mailing list and/or LinkedIn group to use for ad-hoc dissemination (news, publications, funding etc)
  • Active engagement with Danish stakeholders through regular contact and updates
  • 2 national DTL workshops on DTL
