LED Light as IoT- infrastructure for building and industrial applications
LED iBond aims to develop and demonstrate a new generation of the Tracy Panel, in which the lighting structure serves as conductor for the electricity for the LEDs but also as IoT infrastructure.
Installation of IoT devices such as light sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, cameras and smoke alarms offers a unique new platform for data collection and -use.
Goal: LED technology and smart lighting infrastructure is predicted to reduce energy consumption by 60% by 2030, while lowering total costs of ownership by 60% to 80%.
This project aims to build an intelligent LED infrastructure system enabled for open collaboration with device manufactures.
The project is an extension of the patented technology called Tracy, which provides the lightest and thinnest LED panels available for commercial use today. LED iBond has designed to build this superior form/factor with unique cooling properties.
This EUDP project will extend its capabilities in intelligent lighting, with a dual-purpose LED panels serving as infrastructure for click-on sensors and devices in commercial and industrial applications.
Work Program: Via a Software Development Kit is enabled a platform for open collaboration; and energy optimization is secured. The software platform and the interface with 3rd party actors are developed. Finally, an open source Sensor Development Kit is developed with External IoT partners.
Application of Results: LED iBond has now partnered with the IoT (Internet of Things) specialized software firm Ciklum and electronic development company EKTOS. Commercial buildings will be addressed through a combination of project sales, sales through partners and direct sales to strategic key accounts.Key figures
