OES Task 10 WEC Moddeling, Verifikation and Validation, Part II
OES is a Technology Collaboration Program under IEA initiated in 2001 by Denmark, Portugal and the United Kingdom. Today OES includes 25 countries which have come together to advance research, development and demonstration of conversion technologies in order to harness energy from ocean renewable resources, such as waves and tides.
This numerical modelling task under the OES was initiated in 2016 and experts from 13 countries are cooperating with the objective to improve industry confidence in the numerical tools used for the design and prediction of power production from Wave Energy Converters.
As part of the project, several WEC concepts will be modelled – and thereby the project will help build confidence in the performance of selected wave energy converters. This EUDP proposal supports Denmark as the coordinator of the OES-Task 10 and helps the Danish partners initiate and develop the task which in order to satisfy the goals stated below. Lessons learned from IEA Wind Task 30 have and will be integrated into the approach by the OES.
