EUDP 2020-II IEA SHC Task 64 Solar process heat
The project will be the Danish part of the recently started IEA (International Energy Agency) SHC (Solar Heating & Cooling Programme) Task 64 on Solar Process Heat. The key components of solar heating systems for industrial process inclusive large-scale solar collector fields, heat storages and smart controls will be investigated. Studies will be carried out for the integration of solar heating systems into the industrial process systems.
The reference industrial systems with solar process heat in Denmark and abroad will be selected and investigated in accordance with the IEA SHC Task 64 framework. Simulation programs will be developed for the key components and for the solar heating systems. The outcomes of the results will be promoted to the industry and the Task networks towards standardization.
The objectives of the project are:
- To model and validate large-scale concentrating solar collector fields, heat storages and smart controls
- To assess how solar heating systems with large-scale concentrating solar collector fields and intelligent control systems are best integrated in industrial systems.
- To simulate and optimize the developed solar heating systems for industrial process
To optimize and promote the developed methods, results and guideline towards standardization
