Demonstration af et markedsmodent, rentabelt, effektivt og driftssikkert bølge-energianlæg
The purpose of this project is to make Crestwing completely ready for its first commercially viable device. With the final demonstration of Crestwing’s 30-meter, 65 tons prototype “Tordenskiold”, the world’s first large scale commercial wave energy device will be ready to manufacture and deploy in 2025-2026.
Crestwing has tested a 30 meter long, 65 tons prototype for approximately 2 years. It has shown great results and given Crestwing a lot of knowledge. Some optimization has been identified that can increase the efficiency of the system. This project aims to implement optimizations that has been identified in the already made tests.
Throughout the first 12 months of this EUDP project, a new and improved generator and drive system will be implemented, along with a control system. By the start of 2024, Crestwing expects to have launched the optimized device.
Through the deployment there will be measured a range of points such as internal forces, energy production, power quality and much more. The control system will continuously be improved throughout the test period. The data achieved will result in the design and engineer of a 120-meter device. By the end of this 2-year project, it is expected that the manufacturing of the 120-meter system has taken a beginning.
