Speedup demo varmepumpe
The objective of the project is to further develop and implement the newly developed compressor (SPEEDUP project) in a closed loop one-stage high temperature heat pump system operating with water/steam (R718) as working medium.
The project is based on the promising results obtained in the EUDP funded project SPEEDUP where a new compressor was developed using a direct drive high speed motor. In SPEEDUP a new compressor was designed to be used for direct mechanical vapor compression (open loop heat pump). The compressor unit has now been thoroughly tested in a air test facilities in Malmö and is now installed at DTU laboratory where the long-time reliability and stability with water vapor is tested.
The project is thus composed of two major parts: 1. Design and test of a new closed loop heat pump with current compressor design 2. Development (design studies) of compressor series that can be used in same overall system to address different application needs.
The project has the following major activities:
- Design and errection of a closed heat pump system.
- Development and design of system including new control loops.
- Construction and installation to fit into exiting test rig.
- Test and validation.
- Development of compressor design family.
- Design specification with design restrictions (same frame).
- Detailed compressor design and analysis (mean line flow path, CFD).
- Preliminary drawings for selected designs.
