IEAWIND Task 42 Levetidsforlængelse, fase 2
This project enables Danish participation in the IEA Wind Task 42 Wind Turbine Lifetime Extension Assessment - Phase 2. Through knowledge transfer, the IEA task will contribute to improved end-of-life decisions via three main topics; (i) techno-economic assessment (ii), data-driven assessment, (iii) scenarios for 2050.
The scope IEA Wind Task 42 phase 2 task will focus on the development of data-driven decision support frameworks for service life extension, with the view to inform decisions towards supporting the 2050 targets. More specifically, following the initial investigation we qualify three priorities, starting from (i) the integration of the techno-economic assessment with the quantification of risks and uncertainties, then (ii) focusing on the specification and use of data to inform relevant decisions, and finally, (iii) building relevant scenarios for 2050 with respect to life extension, specifying requirements for technology qualification in support of end of life strategic decisions. The knowledge transfer on life extension through the IEAWIND Task 42 team will contribute to lowered cost of energy for the Danish wind energy industry through robust management of end-of-life scenarios for wind farms.
