Improved method to heat production by cooling, moisturizing and condensation of fluegas
By using the experience of the cement and glass industry, the project group developed a new district heating concept in which energy is produced in a condensing unit and a radiation unit thus preventing coatings and corrosion in the flue-gas cooler.
In this project a new method of heat production will be documented. The documentation is intented to be followed up by a demonstration plant a production of this technology. The technology is based on the evaporation energy of water, which is first used for cooling the fluegas and hereafter used for heat production
Flue gases are cooled after the boiler room by the injection of atomised water. Due to the water’s significant heat of evaporation, the flue gas cools quickly while the water evaporates. This way, the condensing unit can produce district heating at a higher temperature. If the system is combined with combustion air soaking, a very high rate of thermal efficiency is achieved
