DK superconducting tape technologi 2001-2003
This project focuses on the core technologies for tape development wirh low AC losses and with higher fill factor.
The purpose of this research program is to develop the technology for manufacturing of superconductor tape in order to support the long-term research and technology development to enable the use of the HTS technology in the years 2005-2010. The goals for Energy policy in Energi-21 will be promoted, including energy savings, reduced environmental impact, and the creation of a more efficient energy network. The HTS technology has long-term interest for energy transfer between regions and countries, e.g. for the smoothing of renewable and distributed energy production. Other application areas include the development of smaller high efficient and versatile electric motors, generators (e.g. for wind turbines), transformers and superconducting magnetic energy storage systems. This project intentionally focuses on the core technologies for tape development, which has put Denmark among the leading countries in the world regards research and development on tape manufacturing technology. Work programme: Development of tapes with low AC losses. Development of tapes with higher fill factor. Development of a new, patentable flat rolling process. Powder measurement and numerical powder models. Stochiometry analysis of BSCCO-2223. Analyses of phase composition and texture of tapes. Measurement of critical transport of current of tapes
