Energy-optimal control and fault detection of refrigeration systems
The background for the project is the fact that it has become technically and economically feasible to use variable speed control of all active components (compressors, fans, pumps) in a refrigeration system.
This adds to the degrees of freedom when controlling the system, making energy optimisation possible. The objective of the project is to obtain energy savings in the operation of refrigeration systems. The means are twofold: development and implemention of multi-input-multi-output capacity control strategies and energy key-figures based fault detection and diagnosis. As part of the project the above mentioned strategies will be implemented and tested in a number of casestudies. The casestudies fall into three categories: laboratory test plants, industrial refrigeration plants and commercial plants (supermarkets)
