Cyclone gasification project. Priliminary project
As a preliminary project for a project on cyclone gasification of straw, the Danish Technological Institute has been asked to answer the following issues: What is known about Vølund's project and gasification of other grass-like biofuels with alkali-silica content?; A realistic, long-term schedule for the entire development of affairs; Possibilities/terms connected with establishing a Centre in co-operation with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in order to develop gasification technology.
The objects of the priliminary project are: 1) To examine what is known from the Vølund/Risø project and any other projects regarding cyclone gasification of grass-like biofuels with alkali-silica content. 2) To prepare a realistic schedule for the development of cyclone/fluidized straw gasification. 3) To describe the possibilities/terms for entering into an establishment of a centre together with DTU and other relevant experts in order to develop gasification technology
This report aims at answering the above questions. Vølund, DTU and other actors within biomass gasification have been contacted in order to examine the background of the issues and in order to be able to give realistic answers. It has been a useful process which might and should result in a more fruitful co-operation within the area of gasification and the establishment of a new and promising 'line' of straw gasification. The basis for an agreement on co-operation as well as a description of a new effort within the field of straw gasification and the appurtenant schedule appear from the report
