Vacuum drying of sludge by use of district heating

The purpose of the project is to define the design basis for vacuum drying of sludge. Work Programme: The project comprises initial tests, modification of a pilot plant and establishment of the design basis for a full-scale plant.

Project description

Satus: Drying plants for high vacuum are not available commercially. A comparative study has shown that the actual concept for drying of sludge is one of the best in respect to CO2 potential and cost per CO2 displacement on macro level. Result: The project will form the basis for construction of a demonstration plant located at a MSW/biomass fired co-generation plant
