Registration of danish energy literature and descriptions of energy research projects and cooperation with international information systems
The aims are to make information about Danish energy research and its results available to users in Denmark and abroad and, through international cooperation, to make international research and its results available to Danish research organisations and industry.
The aims are to make information about Danish energy research and its results available to users in Denmark and abroad and, through international cooperation, to make international research and its results available to Danish research organisations and industry. The Danish Energy Agency has signed a number of agreements about the exchange of information between countries and international organizations, and the obligations described in these agreements are carried out in this project. A systematic collection and registration of both published and unpublished information (project descriptions) on Danish research and development within the field of energy is accomplished. The information is included in several information systems, i.e. ETDE Energy Data Base (IEA), Nordic Energy Index, INIS (International Nuclear Information System, IAEA), Coal Data Base (IEA), DANDOKbasen, SESAME (EU) and US RIP (U.S. Department of Energy). The published results of the EFP programme are announced in a special publication issued twice a year by the Danish Energy Agency. A manuscript is prepared of descriptions of EFP-projects for the publication 'Energiforskningsprogram 98' (Energy Research Programme 98). These two pubpubliations will also be available on the World Wide Web. As the collected data can be re-used for different purposes the project ensures that information of Danish energy research and development can be included in relevant information systems in the most economic and rational way. Information Service Department (including Risø Library) gives advice to anyone who wishes to use the information systems (databases) and offers to carry out searches for those who do not have direct access to them. All Danish energy publications can be borrowed from the Library which also helps users to retrieve publications from other countries
The Danish Energy Agency has signed a number of agreements about the exchange of information between countries and international organisations, and the obligations described in these agreements are carried out in this project. A systematic collection and registration of both published and unpublished information (project descriptions) on Danish energy research and development was carried out. In 1998 1.102 energy publications have been indexed, abstracted, registered, and sent to the databases ETDE Energy Database (IEA), INIS (IAEA), and Coal Database (IEA). In the same period 165 new R & D project descriptions have been indexed and registered, and 259 of the existing project records have been updated. The project registrations were sent to the databases Nordic Energy Index and DANDOK Database. Manuscripts for lists of publications from the Energy Research Programme and the publication Energiforskningsprogram 98 were prepared. The latter was also the basis for mounting the project descriptions on the home page of the Danish Energy Agency. Both manuscripts were prepared on the basis of the registrations made for the above mentioned databases. In relation to IEA's evaluation of the projects that were granted under the Energy Research Programmes 1992 to 1997, descriptions of each project in English were produced to the Danish Energy Agency. Also these English-language descriptions were produced on the basis of the same registrations as mentioned above, and are thus yet another example of re-use of data. The annual meeting of the Nordic Advisory Board for Energy Information took place in Oslo in April 1998.
