Second generation of solar walls. Building integrated solar energy

The objective of the project is to optimize solar walls considering output, financing, indoor climate and aesthetics. For an optimising to take place, an optimizing of the interaction between solar walls and other building integrated solar energy is necessary.

Project description

The objective of the project is to optimize solar walls considering output, financing, indoor climate and aesthetics. For an optimising to take place, an optimizing of the interaction between solar walls and other building integrated solar energy is necessary. The primary objective of this optimization is to improve the full-scale establishment of future 2. generation solar walls for a number of selected buildings that are to be identified and selected together with clients/housing associations and the solar wall group. This part is placed under a development project (UVE). The following topics will be investigated during the project: Status regarding solar walls, interaction with other building integrated solar energy, utilization of surplus heat in connection with hot tap water, selection of materials, investigations of selective covers and transparent insulations, test building integrated, accumulation, ventilation conditions, CFD simulation, solar wall area compared to output, profile systems, prices, colours and visualizing, architectural fitting and linkage with insulation. Finally, a report will be elaborated regarding the above mentioned topics in order that 2. generation solar walls can be initiated. The intention is to select 5-8 full scale demonstration projects with solar walls being the primary element possibly together with other building integrated solar energy. As mentioned this part of the project comes within a planned UVE project
