IEA Gas Technology Information

The target is to increase marketing of new, efficient gas technologies by means of enhanced information exchange. This will help reducing the world's energy consuption and thereby improving our environment. For this purpose, GTI Online contains and develops a number of services: 1) Conference system (Experts' Networks). 2) Notice board (Question and Answer board). 3) Commercial advertising (Gas Technology Marketplace). 4) Database (Electronic Library). Furthermore other tasks are performed, e.g. 1) Quarterly production and distribution of a global newsletter. 2) Development of specification for our own database and maintenance of a survey of the most important databases covering energy technology. The board of the Centre, 'Executive Committee', is kept abreast of the progress of each project and ensures that the involved countries get maximum benefit of the cooperation. At the beginning of 1996, the involved countries were Canada, Denmark, Japan, Portugal, Russia, Spain and U.S.A.
